Title & Authority Job Title: Yard Equipment Operator Reporting Structure: This role reports directly to the Technical Services Manager. The role has no direct or indirect reports. Work will be assigned by the Service Coordinator. General Description of the Role The Yard Equipment Operator is a versatile position that supports Service and Manufacturing. The Yard Equipment operator is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials and equipment within the yard and facilities. Load, unload and transport raw materials (steel beams, channel, pipe and plate) within yard and to and from facilities Load, unload and transport WIP and finished components within yard and to and from facilities Transporting WIP and finished equipment within the yard and to and from facilities, either by itself or on trailers Safe use and operation of a variety of lift trucks, scissor lifts, telehandlers, trailers and trucks Assist manufacturing by picking raw materials, parts and components and delivering to fabrication Read, understand and follow working instructions/directions, policies, procedures and safe work practices Regular maintenance of a variety of vehicles, including lift trucks, scissor lifts, telehandlers, trailers and trucks General housekeeping of equipment, yard, and facilities Yard and facilities maintenance (i.e. plowing snow) Read, understand shipping/receiving paperwork Attending meeting, training courses and seminars as required Other duties as requested or required Qualifications Required skills and attributes – you have: Mechanically inclined; comfortable with machinery and the operation of a wide range of equipment, including lift trucks, scissor lifts, telehandlers, skidsteers, trucks, and trailers Lift truck operator’s license Class 5 operator’s license Familiarity with air brakes Someone with a strong work ethic and a lead-by-example work style Someone with a positive attitude and an ability to work closely with skilled tradespersons Fluent in English A good communicator, both verbally and in writing Able to work effectively and productively without close supervision Preferred experience/qualification – you have: Class 3 or Class 1 operator’s license Air brake (Q) endorsement Other: This position is located in Calgary, AB at the ELRUS head office location This position requires reliable transportation to and from work This position is a day shift position Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $23.38-$35.00 per hour Benefits Dental care Disability insurance Employee assistance program Extended health care Life insurance On-site parking Paid time off RRSP match Vision care Application question(s): What are your salary expectations?
