Hensall Co-op is seeking a Swine Feed Sales Representative to assist our Feed Sales team. The Swine Feed Sales Rep is responsible for marketing livestock feed and nutritional products to customers. They often meet with customers to determine the customers’ needs and how they can support them. They maintain detailed records of their sales and develop prospective client lists, schedule visits, file expense reports and provide ongoing customer service. At Hensall Co-op’s Feed Division, we’re building a driven, results-focused sales team in the agriculture sector. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Generate and take orders from customers, provide quotes and follow up on requests for product information Build and maintain a close and professional relationship with potential and existing customers, in-person, by telephone or email to promote sales and services Develop a method to follow up on all quotations Adopt, maintain and follow company systems and processes for accurate, complete, and timely sales information Overcome business and technical objections of prospective customers Liaise with all sales staff to ensure sales activities are met in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner Assist in planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring company sales, marketing, and feed programs to enhance and maximize swine production and performance Eager to always learn to become an expert in product information Responsible for communicating sales, which may affect production and inventory to appropriate personnel. Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory counts including climbing bins, if necessary Maintain contact with existing customers and potential prospects in a regular, timely, and efficient manner Maintain up-to-date market knowledge on sales and market trends, product performance, and industry information Attend trade shows as necessary to help contribute to increased sales Assist in the preparation of the Sales Department operating budget, capital budget and operation plan Act as a representative at key industry meetings and functions Understand and follow all HC Health and Safety and Environmental policies and procedures All other duties as assigned Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science or equivalent experience an asset Swine husbandry experience preferred Valid G driver’s license required Minimum three years’ sales and/or service experience in an agricultural related field Knowledge of customer and prospects considered an asset Required Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to interact professionally with customers and suppliers Working knowledge of agricultural production systems Strategic selling and negotiation skills What Hensall Co-op has to offer: Hensall Co-op is the largest independent Agricultural Co-operative in Ontario.
