Full job description
Summary: Assists Operators on production lines to ensure availability of raw materials, removal of packaging and finished goods, and overall cleanliness of work areas. Responsibilities · Perform daily hand truck inspection at the beginning of the shift or when the hand truck is pulled from the charger. · Check the production schedule at the beginning of the shift, including active batches and blends. · Get directions from the Operator or Junior Operator on which lines are changing. · Check and monitor the usage of material boxes/recycle/pigment/calcium at the beginning and throughout the shift. · Adjust the tape machines for new size boxes. · Monitor the glue and the printed box consumption on CT box machines. · Stock packaging supplies for the lines. Ensure that there are enough supplies to last a minimum of 2 hours into the next shift. · Transfer finished cases onto pallet, bring to wrapping machine and issue production label. Proceed to wrap the pallet and place in the staging area of the warehouse. · Thread film through the winder, bag machine and separator, if knowledgeable. · Help Operator position auxiliary equipment (box machines, tape machines, sealing machines, etc) · Assist the Operator with pulling film, if needed on a line start up. · Ensure cleanliness of production areas at all times, including but not limited to sweeping, removing garbage. Ensure minimum clearance between supplies and materials from the walls as per HACCP requirements. · Remove any scrap from the floor periodically throughout the shift as per Company policy. · Flatten empty gaylords and place them with the scrap skids. Ensure that skids and gaylords are clear of fire extinguishers and exit doors · When garbage gaylord boxes are full, transfer to the shipping area. · Label, cover and move scrap boxes to the shipping area. · Bring Chep blue skids to the machines. · Adhere to company policies, procedures, safety and other standards including BSCI. · Understand and comply with all HACCP and GMP policies · Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements · Secondary school education · 2 years related work experience · Excellent communication and team skills. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES Fast-paced environment, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye coordination, Standing for extended periods, Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) Salary: $20.50 hourly 36 and 48 hour shifts per week. Rotating continental 12-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM OR from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM. You will be working an average of 42 hours per week. Working days and days off will be determined on a rotational basis, with a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 4 shifts per week. Overtime and work on weekends may be required depending on the business needs.
