Job Summary PFG Glass Industries is seeking a reliable and experienced individual to join our team as a full-time Material Handler – Overhead Crane & Forklift at our Langley facility. We are looking for an individual who takes pride in their work, has a strong commitment to safety, demonstrates good attention to detail, and is comfortable operating material-handling equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position plays an important role in supporting our Production, Shipping, and Receiving departments by safely and efficiently moving glass, materials, racks, and finished products throughout our facility using overhead cranes and forklifts. Previous experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts in a manufacturing, warehouse, construction, or industrial environment is required. Experience handling large, heavy, fragile, or specialized materials is considered an asset. PFG provides detailed hands-on training and ongoing support to help Team Members become familiar with our equipment, material-handling procedures, safety requirements, production processes, and facility operations. Compensation & Shift Starting wage: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour, based on relevant skills, certifications, and experience. This position is a regular full-time Day-Shift Position: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM Responsibilities Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts to unload and move glass, materials, racks, finished products, and equipment throughout the facility. Support Production, Shipping, and Receiving with the movement, organization, and staging of materials and finished products. Load and unload trucks, containers, storage areas, and production equipment as required. Safely position, move, and store materials to minimize the risk of product damage and maintain an organized work environment. Ensure materials and finished products are placed in the correct designated locations throughout the facility. Complete required pre-use safety and equipment inspections. Inspect overhead cranes, forklifts, lifting equipment, and related material-handling equipment and report any concerns or deficiencies. Assist with inventory management, material organization, and product tracking. Use computers and handheld scanners to access and update production and inventory information as required. Read and scan production tags, work orders, and other documentation to ensure materials and products are accurately identified and moved to the correct locations. Identify and report product damage, equipment concerns, hazards, or operational issues to the Team Lead or Manager. Follow established safe work procedures and PFG's OSSE-certified safety program. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work and storage areas. Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with other Team Members to coordinate the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility. Assist with other Production, Shipping, Receiving, and warehouse duties as required. Qualifications Minimum 1 year of experience operating overhead cranes in a manufacturing, warehouse, construction, or industrial environment. Minimum 2 years of forklift operating experience. Valid forklift certification. Previous experience in manufacturing, warehousing, shipping and receiving, construction, or another industrial environment. Strong understanding of safe lifting, loading, unloading, and material-handling practices. Good spatial awareness and the ability to safely maneuver large materials and equipment in an active manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Dependable transportation to attend scheduled shifts. Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to stand and move throughout an eight-hour shift. Ability to safely and consistently lift up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-based manufacturing environment. Willingness to learn PFG's equipment, processes, material-handling procedures, and production systems. Previous experience handling large panels, construction materials, or other heavy or fragile products is considered an asset. Relevant skills, certifications, and experience may be considered when determining the starting wage.
