Full job description
JOB SPECIFICATION Position: Material Handler Reporting to: Team Lead PURPOSE: This is to define the duties and responsibilities of Loading Material Handler Role. Work Conditions: Work hours will be 40 hours per week, 8 hours per shift, and rotating work schedule. Occasionally work maybe required outside of “Normal” work hours. The work environment is located on the production floor. Responsibilities Work to Health & Safety, Hygiene, & Housekeeping procedures within the workplace Ensure Quality standards are met and quality issues are reported Ensure finished goods are accurately labelled and packaged in accordance with finished product procedure Finished products are stored and removed accurately in appropriate area Ensure that product movement complies with the first in first out rotation Movement of any delivery or items that need a Forklift truck to move it inside or outside of plant area Supply machine operator with material to complete job accordingly Report any faults to the forklift truck and record in the daily log in accordance with the Health & Safety policy Participate in the team framework and suggest improvements where needed Good communication skills Responsible for the movement of finished stock from within the Plant and until it reaches its final destination Assist with Logistics, loading and unloading of trailers Ensure trailer is clean, safe, and cannot damage the product(s) Ensure returned goods are reported to the Quality department and labelled (Hold) for inspection Be aware of the quality of the items being loaded and question any defects noticed and report to the Quality department or management Record documentation in a neat and organized manner (paperwork for shipping products) Cover breaks where needed in the plant Inventory control, including assisting end of month reports. Any duties required by the management of the business Competencies and Qualifications: Forklift certification is required Must be able to read and understand written instructions Must be able to work under pressure Must be able to work with others and communicate with machine operators/maintenance as required Perform routine tasks, while remaining alert and flexible Must be able to problem solve, if needed Work steadily and safe in a fast-paced environment Assist the team in all areas as needed and train to higher standards Job Type: Full-time Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour Experience Forklift: 1 year (required) Location: Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC (preferred) Work Location: In person Benefits Dental care Extended health care Life insurance
